German Court Pauses Civil Servant Pay Case Awaiting Supreme Court Ruling

The 7th chamber of the Administrative Court of Braunschweig has temporarily halted a judicial procedure regarding appropriate salaries for female and male civil servants. The stay, requested by the parties involved, includes a case brought by an Academic Councilor employed at a university.

The stay of proceedings, as ordered by the court, means the judicial process has been paused without any further actions being taken. This pause is due to ongoing proceedings before the Supreme Court, which are yet to be resolved. The court has not yet made a decision on an appropriate salary for a female civil servant.

The temporarily suspended procedure was initiated by the Association of German Civil Servants (Deutscher Beamtenbund, DBB). Once the pending issues are resolved, the procedure can be resumed at the request of the parties involved.

The stay of proceedings regarding appropriate salaries for civil servants before the Braunschweig Administrative Court is currently in effect. The court has not yet made a decision, and the process will remain on hold until the Supreme Court resolves its pending matters.
