Woman sexually harassed on Berlin tram after three men assault her
A woman was sexually harassed and men who intervened were injured in Hellersdorf on Wednesday evening. Emergency responders were alerted around 9 p.m. to a stop near U-Bahnhof Hellersdorf after reports of an assault against a 36-year-old man and his companion.
According to initial findings and witness statements, the incident began inside a tram car, where three suspects allegedly touched an as-yet unidentified woman inappropriately on her buttocks and attempted to kiss her against her will. When the 36-year-old and his companion intervened, they were reportedly physically attacked by the suspects. The 36-year-old sustained injuries to his upper body, while his companion left the scene before his personal details could be recorded. Both men declined medical treatment. The assailants fled in an unknown direction.
The case is now under investigation by a specialized unit of Police Directorate 3 (East).
