Solingen – Police Seek Witnesses After Hit-and-Run in City Center
A 21-year-old man suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Solingen's city center early Wednesday, and police are now appealing for witnesses.
According to authorities, the accident occurred around 11:05 p.m. on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße near Augustastraße. The young man was crossing the road on foot when he was struck by a white Volkswagen Passat.
Minor Injuries After Collision
The impact and subsequent fall left the 21-year-old with minor injuries. Emergency responders treated him at the scene.
However, the driver of the vehicle fled without stopping to assist the victim or report the incident.
Driver Flees Despite Red Light
Police report that the car continued through a red light toward Mummstraße. Investigators are currently pursuing leads to locate the fleeing vehicle.
