Kazakhstan deports 27 foreign workers after Tengiz camp immigration raids
Kazakhstan has deported 27 foreign citizens following enforcement raids at the Tengiz shift camp in Zhylyoi District. Migration service officers carried out the operation as part of wider efforts to regulate immigration compliance. The raids targeted violations of immigration laws at the Tengiz site. Officers identified and detained individuals found to be in breach of residency rules. Each case was documented under Part 5, Article 517 of Kazakhstan’s Code of Administrative Offenses.
The detained workers were later referred to the Zhylyoi District Court for further legal review. Alongside enforcement, authorities held outreach sessions for foreign employees and employers. These meetings clarified permissible stay durations and outlined penalties for non-compliance.
Officials stressed that awareness campaigns will continue alongside enforcement actions. The goal is to ensure both workers and companies understand their legal obligations. The 27 deported individuals were removed from Kazakhstan after administrative proceedings. Authorities have signalled that similar checks and educational efforts will remain in place. The measures aim to maintain compliance with the country’s immigration framework.
