Kazakhstan Leads New Caspian Sea Protection Initiatives

The initiatives proposed by Kazakhstan's president on the Caspian at the plenary session are highly significant and in demand. The Caspian littoral states will discuss them in detail during a separate meeting.

While the Blueing the Caspian Sea project is initially being implemented with the participation of three countries, the other two Caspian states are also engaged in the process. Russia and Iran will act as observers and will be invited to take part in most of the project's activities.

As a party to the Tehran Convention, Kazakhstan is building consistent cooperation with its neighbors to preserve the marine environment. The Caspian states are doing everything possible to protect the sea. The project itself is one of the most vivid examples of this shared commitment.
