Knife attack in Berlin's Britz leaves one man hospitalised after violent altercation
A violent altercation in Berlin’s Britz district left one man hospitalised early this morning. Police confirmed that a 30-year-old suspect allegedly attacked a 35-year-old victim with a knife. Both men suffered injuries during the confrontation.
The incident began inside an apartment before spilling onto the sidewalk. At some point, the 30-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife, striking the victim in the shoulder. The victim was later taken to hospital for inpatient treatment.
The assailant also sustained a cut to his right palm. Authorities seized the weapon after arriving at the scene. Following outpatient care and police questioning, the 30-year-old was released. A specialised unit from Police Directorate 4 (South) has taken over the investigation.
The 35-year-old remains in hospital for further treatment. Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the attack. No further details have been released at this stage.
