Krasnodar honors century-old labor dynasties at pre-May Day gala
A pre-May Day celebration took place at the House of Unions in Krasnodar, honouring families with deep roots in the region’s workforce. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev attended the event alongside 250 guests, including trade union leaders and employers’ representatives.
The gathering recognised labour dynasties whose combined service spans decades—some even centuries—in key industries across Krasnodar.
Among those honoured was Irina Lognenko, a chemical engineer at Chernomortransneft. Her family has contributed 47 years to the oil and gas sector across three generations. Another standout was the Shaposhnik family, linked to the Kazachya Dusha ensemble of the Kuban Cossack Choir for 141 years.
The Kovalenko-Arkhipenko family was also celebrated for their 113 years of service at the Platirovsky consumer cooperative. Meanwhile, the Zaitsev dynasty accumulated 104 years in Krasnodar’s tram and trolleybus authority. The Parafes family, with four generations in Ust-Labinsk’s penal institutions, reached a combined tenure of 85 years. Mentors Maxim Chailyan and Svetlana Pavlenko received special recognition for their guidance in the workplace. The event drew key figures like Svetlana Bessarab, chair of the Krasnodar Regional Trade Union Federation, and Sergei Oguertsov, first deputy chair of the Krasnodar Territory Employers’ Association. Some dynasties boasted up to 250 years of collective experience, showcasing the enduring dedication of local workers across multiple fields.
The ceremony highlighted the long-standing contributions of Krasnodar’s labour dynasties. Families from industries like transport, culture, and energy were formally acknowledged for their generational commitment. Governor Kondratyev’s presence underscored the regional government’s appreciation for their sustained service.
