Krasnodar Krai honours WWII veterans with financial aid and public tributes
To mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 175 veterans residing in Krasnodar Krai as well as in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania received a one-time payment of 10,000 rubles. The funds were disbursed alongside their April pensions.
This annual payment has become a traditional form of support for veterans ahead of May 9—Victory Day. This year, Krasnodar Krai continues to host events celebrating the occasion, including festive concerts, wreath-laying ceremonies, and commemorative gatherings.
Additionally, regional authorities are placing special emphasis on social support for veterans, providing medical care, utility bill subsidies, and cultural programs. In 2026, the assistance program is set to expand to include more participants of the Great Patriotic War and their families.
