Lahnstein woos young talent at Koblenz's career fair with public service opportunities

Local Government Is Teamwork for Your Hometown!

Lahnstein. Once again this year, Lahnstein's city administration was a key participant in the "Apprenticeship and Study Days." On April 24 and 25, 2026, the city showcased itself as an attractive employer at Koblenz's EPG Arena, opening doors to a secure and exciting professional future for young people while providing targeted information on career entry opportunities. Whether in daycare centers, swimming pools, event planning, or classic city hall roles—the range of professions presented was extensive.

Mayor Lennart Siefert made a point of personally supporting the fair team, emphasizing the importance of being on-site: "We want to be where the future of our city lies. It's not just about filling positions—it's about inspiring young people to actively shape their hometown. The response shows that we're seen as a modern service provider."

The fair reflected the different stages of career choice: Friday focused on exploration, with numerous school classes taking advantage of introductory conversations. Saturday saw more concrete discussions, as many young people arrived with their parents, asking specific questions about dual study programs and specializations.

Early childhood education was also well represented, with specialists from municipal daycare centers passionately advocating for careers in childcare. The message resonated: the city administration offers stability, purpose, and incredible diversity.

Beyond career counseling, the Lahnstein team used the fair for intermunicipal exchange and networking with business partners.

Overall, the city administration looks back on another successful participation, viewing the event as a valuable platform to inspire young people to pursue careers in public service.
