Major drug raid in Bergkamen-Rünthe nets four arrests and chemical seizure
Police in Bergkamen-Rünthe carried out a major raid on a warehouse linked to drug production. The operation on March 24, 2026, led to four arrests and the seizure of chemicals used in making narcotics. One person suffered minor injuries during the arrests. Officers searched a warehouse on Hafenweg after receiving intelligence about suspected drug activity. Inside, they discovered a large quantity of chemicals commonly used in narcotics production. The substances were immediately seized for further examination.
The Dortmund Fire Department's Analytical Task Force supported the police during the raid. Their specialists helped identify and secure the hazardous materials found on site. Four men were taken into custody in connection with the operation. Those arrested include a 58-year-old Dutch national, a 21-year-old German-Turkish man, a 23-year-old German from Frechen, and a 24-year-old Iraqi from Cologne. One individual sustained minor injuries while being detained. Criminal investigations remain ongoing as authorities examine the evidence gathered from the warehouse.
The raid disrupted what appears to be a significant drug production operation. Police continue to analyse the seized chemicals and gather further evidence. The arrested individuals will face questioning as part of the investigation.
