Malaysia's King and Queen host grand Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at Istana Negara
The King and Queen of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, attended a grand Hari Raya Aidilfitri reception at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together over 600 guests, including high-ranking officials and foreign diplomats, for a celebration filled with traditional food and live performances.
Earlier in the day, Their Majesties joined Aidilfitri prayers at the Istana Negara Main Surau. The reception that followed saw them mingling with attendees, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
Among the distinguished guests were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul, and Chief Justice Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil were also present, alongside representatives from 78 foreign embassies. The celebration featured a spread of traditional dishes, including Johor specialities like *kacang pool* and *sup tulang merah*, as well as *lemang*, *ketupat*, *rendang*, and *nasi beriani*. Entertainment was provided by the Royal Malaysia Police Quintet Band, with a special performance by singer Datuk DJ Dave. The event highlighted Malaysia's cultural richness and diplomatic ties, as guests from government, judiciary, and international missions came together in celebration.
The Hari Raya Aidilfitri reception at Istana Negara concluded with a display of Malaysian hospitality and unity. Their Majesties' presence, along with senior officials and foreign dignitaries, underscored the significance of the occasion in fostering national and international goodwill.
