Malinowski kicks off NJ-11 race with $500K in first-week donations
Tom Malinowski launched his campaign for New Jersey's 11th congressional district last week, raising over $500,000 in the first week. This impressive start comes as he competes against eight other Democratic candidates, with varying fundraising totals.
Malinowski's current campaign has received backing from diverse groups, including the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and environmental organizations. His previous campaigns in 2018, 2020, and 2022 raised $6.3 million, $7.5 million, and nearly $9 million respectively.
Among his competitors, Jeff Grayzel had raised $340,000 by the end of September, with a significant portion being self-funded. John Bartlett raised over $350,000 in his first few days, while Cammie Croft had raised $188,000 by the same period. Brendan Gill, with establishment support, has yet to announce his fundraising numbers.
Malinowski, who does not accept corporate money, previously converted his old fundraising account into a political action committee supporting liberal candidates in school board races after his 2022 re-election loss.
With a strong start to his fundraising efforts, Tom Malinowski aims to secure the Democratic nomination for New Jersey's 11th congressional district. As the race progresses, voters will consider each candidate's financial support and platform.
