Murder Convict's $3.75M Utah Mansion Finally Sells After Dark Legal Saga
A lavish Utah mansion linked to a high-profile murder case has sold for $3.75 million. The property was once owned by Kouri Richins, who was recently convicted of killing her husband in 2022. The sale follows years of legal battles and a life sentence without parole. Kouri Richins and her husband Eric were celebrating the purchase of the 20,000-square-foot mansion in Heber City, Utah, on the night of March 3, 2022. Eric had reportedly opposed the $3.9 million deal, but Kouri, a real estate investor specialising in flipping properties, pushed ahead with the plan. Early the next morning, she found him unresponsive in their bed.
The estate included a 4,000-square-foot guesthouse and sprawled across 10 acres. Kouri intended to transform it into a recreational hotspot before selling it for profit. But her plans unravelled in March 2023, when she was arrested and charged with her husband’s murder—exactly a year after his death.
In March 2026, a jury found her guilty of murder and related charges. Two months later, on May 13, she received a life sentence with no chance of parole. The mansion’s sale marks the end of a dark chapter tied to the property. Kouri Richins will spend the rest of her life in prison, while the estate she once hoped to profit from has now changed hands. The $3.75 million deal closes a case that drew widespread attention to the deadly consequences of greed and deception.
