Turkish airline Southwind Airlines has launched flights between Russian resort towns and Turkey.
New Sochi-Antalya direct flights launch amid surging travel demand
The Turkish airline Southwind Airlines has started performing a regular flight program on the route Antalya - Sochi. The first flight from the airport of the main resort of the Krasnodar region to the coast of the Mediterranean Sea took off with a full load - 190 passengers. This was reported on April 26 by the press service of the airline.
It is specified that flights of Southwind Airlines will be carried out on comfortable Boeing 737-800 liners. Flights are planned three times a week: on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
In 2025, the passenger flow between Sochi and Antalya was 328.7 thousand passengers. On the eve of the Turkish airline Air Anka also gave the start to regular flights on this route. Currently, Russian airlines such as "Iraero" and "Ural Airlines" are performing flights from Sochi to Antalya.
As previously reported, Sochi airport in 2025 served 12.5 million passengers, including more than 1.8 million on international routes. The leaders in passenger traffic on foreign routes were Istanbul (Turkey), Antalya (Turkey), Yerevan (Armenia), Dubai (UAE), and Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt).
