Nizhny Novgorod Authorities Approve Seizure of Land Plot on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street

Nizhny Novgorod to Seize Land for Critical Heating Main Upgrade

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, April 21 – The city administration has decided to expropriate a land plot on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street to upgrade a heating main. The owner has been promised financial compensation.

According to a decree published on the city government's website, the plot in question lies between buildings No. 57 and No. 51A, covering roughly 900 square meters.

Local authorities plan to transfer the land into municipal ownership to facilitate the replacement of a worn-out section of the district heating network.

The City Property Management Committee will assess the plot's market value, which will determine the compensation amount for the owner.

Once the appraisal is complete, negotiations with the landowner will begin. If the owner refuses to relinquish the property voluntarily, the administration intends to pursue the matter in court.
