Dangerous Driving Incident Under Investigation in Lörrach District

Authorities in the Lörrach district are probing a case of hazardous behavior on the roads. On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at around 3:10 p.m., an alleged incident of coercive driving occurred on the B317 between Zell and Maulburg.

According to police, a 59-year-old woman was driving toward Maulburg when a black Mercedes repeatedly tailgated her vehicle, seemingly in an attempt to intimidate her. Feeling pressured, she accelerated. Near the Langenfirst Tunnel, the Mercedes then reportedly overtook a white company-branded van.

Police describe the Mercedes driver as a man aged approximately 30 to 40. Further details remain unclear at this time.

The Schopfheim police station is now seeking the driver of the overtaken van, as well as any additional witnesses who may have noticed the black Mercedes.
