"Cruel": Pharmacy Staff Secretly Filmed
Police hunt man who secretly filmed pharmacy staff in Gernsbach
A man secretly filmed inside a pharmacy without consent, posing as a delivery driver. He later visited other businesses to post the videos on TikTok. Police are now searching for him.
Authorities in Offenburg are hunting for a man who covertly recorded employees in multiple stores without their permission for his social media posts. He is accused of copyright violations.
In early March, he filmed several staff members at Murgtal Pharmacy in Gernsbach, uploading the footage to TikTok shortly afterward. The man arrived in the morning, pretending to be a delivery driver, according to pharmacist Christina Adami. Though she was not present at the time, her team informed her afterward. "A colleague came to me and said she hoped I hadn't ordered anything fragile," Adami recalled. "The man had thrown the package across the dispensary behind the counter and secretly filmed the staff's reactions."
Employees Exposed on TikTok
Since delivery drivers frequently change, it wasn't immediately clear this was a staged stunt. He likely concealed a camera behind his "clipboard." The next day, an employee's acquaintances alerted her to the TikTok video. "Four staff members were visible, and while the pharmacy's name wasn't mentioned, it was obvious which one it was," Adami said.
She reported the incident to police, and four employees filed complaints. "It's a cruel feeling—they feel exposed," Adami said. Her husband, Helfried Adami, has run the pharmacy since 2002. The video was taken down shortly after it was posted, but the man remains unidentified. "I hope the police catch him soon," she added.
Other Businesses Affected
In mid-March, he allegedly recorded two employees at a fast-food restaurant in Bad Rotenfels, exposing them online without permission. In his most recent case, police say he filmed a cashier on Wednesday without consent, humiliating her by using an "oversized banknote and an equally absurdly large bank card" during payment.
The man's identity is still unknown, but police have already requested information from the video platform, a spokesperson confirmed.
