Putin Names New Acting Governor for Tver Region Amid Leadership Shifts
Vladimir Putin has appointed Vitaly Korolev as the acting governor of Tver Region. Korolev, currently serving as deputy head of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service, brings a wealth of experience from various roles in the energy sector and government. He has pledged to prioritize improving residents' quality of life and supporting families of special military operation participants.
Korolev's appointment comes after Igor Rudenya, the former governor, was appointed as Putin's plenipotentiary representative to the Northwestern Federal District. Korolev's extensive background includes working at Krasnoyarsknefteprodukt, Krasnoyarskenergo, and the Federal Antimonopoly Service. He holds three higher education degrees in law, economics, and philology, demonstrating a broad skill set.
Putin praised Korolev's success in his current role and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Tver Region. Korolev, in turn, has emphasized his commitment to carrying out Putin's instructions and working with local officials. However, a disagreement exists between Korolev and the former governor regarding the route of the high-speed railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Vitaly Korolev will lead Tver Region until an elected governor assumes office. His appointment signals Putin's confidence in his ability to manage the region effectively, given his extensive experience and dedication to improving residents' lives. Despite the disagreement on the high-speed railway route, Korolev's focus remains on implementing Putin's instructions and collaborating with local officials.
