Putin signs decree to standardize regional military family support measures

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to standardise regional support for military personnel involved in the special operation. The new measures also extend to their families. A separate package of laws, approved on 25 April, introduces further assistance for service members and their relatives. The decree ensures a consistent approach across regions when providing aid to participants in the special operation. Key benefits include priority access to medical care, sanatorium treatments, and job placement—even if staff reductions occur. Those returning from service will also receive job security guarantees.

Additional support covers social contracts, legal advice, and psychological counselling. Financial aid includes subsidies of up to 100,000 rubles for home gasification. Families of deceased fighters will now receive indefinite basic support, while their spouses gain free entry to colleges and universities.

The laws signed in April reinforce these measures, ensuring faster access to social services and long-term stability for affected families. The new rules create a unified system of support for military personnel and their relatives. Benefits range from education and employment guarantees to financial and psychological assistance. The changes apply immediately across all regions involved.
