Russian Model's Attacker Dies Under House Arrest Before Trial
Angelika Tartanova, a model who went missing in Moscow in December 2025, was later found in critical condition after a violent assault. The businessman accused of attacking her has now died while under house arrest. Authorities had already launched a criminal case against him for causing severe injuries. Tartanova disappeared in December 2025 before being discovered at a clinic with life-threatening wounds. She spent two weeks unconscious in intensive care and underwent emergency brain surgery. The attack followed her decision to end the relationship with the 41-year-old businessman.
The man was placed under house arrest in December, facing charges of deliberate grievous bodily harm—a crime carrying a potential eight-year prison sentence. Before his death, he transferred all his financial accounts to his parents.
Tartanova has since been recovering from her injuries after months of rehabilitation. The businessman’s death leaves the criminal case unresolved. Tartanova continues her recovery, while the transferred assets remain with his family. The investigation into the assault had not reached a verdict before his passing.
