SocialTech Lab to Lead Cyprus's Agrifood Innovation as EIT Food's Official Partner
SocialTech Lab has been named the official EIT Food Country Representative for Cyprus. This new role will connect local agrifood stakeholders with European funding, training, and partnership opportunities. The organisation aims to tackle key challenges faced by innovators in the sector, including scaling and market access barriers. EIT Food, Europe’s leading agrifood innovation initiative, is backed by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). SocialTech Lab will now serve as the national gateway, linking Cyprus with this wider network. Its responsibilities include outreach, capacity-building, and uniting stakeholders from academia, research, and business.
The first EIT Food Activation Event in Cyprus will take place on 25 May 2026 at the CYENS Centre of Excellence in Nicosia. The gathering will bring together startups, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss priorities and explore collaborations. SocialTech Lab will also offer hands-on support, helping stakeholders navigate funding opportunities and prepare strong applications. More details about the event and upcoming initiatives are available at agrifood.socialtechlab.org. Stakeholders across the agrifood ecosystem are encouraged to engage with SocialTech Lab’s activities and consider joining the EIT Food network.
The appointment strengthens Cyprus’s connection to European agrifood innovation. SocialTech Lab’s support will help local stakeholders access resources, training, and partnerships. The first activation event in May 2026 marks the start of this expanded collaboration.
