Solingen Opens Floor for Residents' Questions to City Council
Solingen is giving residents a chance to put their questions directly to the city council. The public session will take place on Thursday, March 5, at 5:00 PM in the Grand Concert Hall at the Theater and Concert House on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße. Officials say the event aims to boost transparency and encourage civic participation. The session marks the start of the next city council meeting. Residents can ask about topics under the council’s control, including transport, schools, urban planning, the environment, or public services. However, questions must be submitted in advance to allow time for research.
Submissions can be sent by post to the City of Solingen, Office of the Council, or emailed to [email protected]. The deadline for all questions is Monday, February 23.
During the event, answers will be given verbally, but discussions will be kept brief. The session is strictly limited to one hour, with no open debate or follow-up arguments allowed. City officials describe the session as an opportunity for residents to engage directly with local politics. The format ensures quick, clear responses while keeping the focus on key municipal issues. All answers will be provided during the live meeting on March 5.
