Teen critically stabbed in Hanover fast-food brawl, suspect arrested
An 18-year-old man was critically injured in a knife attack at a Hanover fast-food restaurant in early March. Police have since arrested a 24-year-old suspect on charges of attempted manslaughter. The victim, though initially in life-threatening condition, has since stabilised after emergency treatment.
The incident unfolded at around 2:55 a.m. on March 7 at a venue on Georgstraße. An argument between the suspect and the victim escalated into a violent confrontation. During the fight, the attacker deployed pepper spray before stabbing the teenager multiple times.
The 18-year-old suffered severe injuries and underwent emergency surgery. Doctors later confirmed he was no longer in immediate danger. Authorities launched an investigation, leading to the suspect's arrest on Friday morning. A magistrate at Hanover District Court issued a detention warrant the same day. The Hanover Public Prosecutor's Office has formally classified the case as attempted manslaughter. Police continue to examine the motive behind the attack.
The suspect remains in custody while investigations proceed. No further public statements or updates have been released since the arrest. The victim's condition has improved, but the case remains under active review by authorities.
