Teen Sentenced to Four Years for School Knife Attack in Russia
A 15-year-old boy has been sentenced to four years in a juvenile correctional facility for the attempted murder of two classmates in Nizhny Novgorod, regional investigators have announced.
According to the regional branch of Russia's Investigative Committee, the incident took place in March 2025 after a long-standing conflict between the students escalated into violence. Investigators found that the teenager brought a knife to school and, during an argument, slashed two peers in the neck. Medical reports confirmed that both victims suffered minor injuries.
The accused was placed under house arrest while the case was under investigation. The court ultimately found him guilty and handed down a four-year prison term in a juvenile detention center.
A separate criminal case has been opened against the school's former director, who is suspected of abuse of office. Investigators allege that she ordered the removal of stationary metal detectors at the school's entrance and failed to provide security staff with handheld scanners.
