Trier Opens 2027 Budget to Public Ideas—Here’s How to Participate
Trier's residents are invited to shape the city's future as the budget process for 2027 kicks off on August 15th. The city's civic participation platform, mitgestalten.our website, is now open for ideas on new investment priorities or savings proposals.
From August 15th to November 1st, residents can submit their proposals. The city administration will verify each idea and merge duplicates. Proposals specific to a neighborhood will also be sent to the local council. The top 30 proposals will then be reviewed by relevant departments and discussed in specialist committees. Voting on valid proposals will take place from December 1st, 2023, to January 1st, 2026.
Registration is required to participate in this process. The final decision on implementing project proposals will be made by a designated decision-making committee, which will evaluate projects based on established criteria and allocate funding accordingly.
The Trier municipal budget process for 2027 is an opportunity for residents to have a say in the city's future. Their ideas could help shape investment priorities and savings proposals. The city council will make the final call on whether a proposal is implemented, following a thorough review process.
