Two-Car Collision in Fürth's Hardhöhe Under Investigation

Minor Collision at Intersection Amid Conflicting Traffic Light Claims—Police Seek Witnesses

A fender-bender and unclear traffic light signals led to a collision between two cars in Fürth's Hardhöhe district on Friday afternoon. With the drivers' accounts contradicting each other, traffic police are now urgently appealing for witnesses.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on April 24, 2026, at the intersection of Breslauer Straße and Hardstraße. According to police, a 44-year-old woman driving a red Mazda CX-5 was traveling inward along Breslauer Straße toward Würzburger Straße. As she approached the intersection with Hardstraße, she turned left, later telling officers that the traffic light had displayed a green arrow for her lane at the time.

At the same moment, a 43-year-old man in a blue VW Polo was heading in the opposite direction on Breslauer Straße toward Oberfürberg. He intended to proceed straight across Hardstraße and insisted during the accident report that he had entered the intersection on a green light.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection. Though neither driver was injured, the crash caused significant property damage, estimated by police at several thousand euros.

Fürth traffic police have launched an investigation. Since liability remains unresolved due to the conflicting statements about the traffic light sequence, investigators are asking the public for assistance. Anyone who witnessed the accident or can provide reliable information about the traffic light timing at the moment of impact is urged to contact police at +49 911 9739970.
