Traffic police officers attempted to pull over a 30-year-old motorist on Thursday (March 26, 2026), but the man drove past them despite signals to stop. Shortly afterward, officers managed to halt the vehicle. The driver did not have a valid license.
In the evening, officers were conducting speed checks on Alexanderstraße when, at around 8:45 p.m., they detected a VW Passat traveling over 72 km/h (45 mph) in a 50 km/h (31 mph) zone toward Boeler Straße. The driver ignored orders to stop but came to a halt shortly after at a red light at the intersection of Alexanderstraße and Boeler Straße. Officers, who had pursued the vehicle, then stopped the man on the adjacent street, Darmsheide, and subjected him to a check.
It emerged that he had no driver's license and that the VW Passat was registered to his partner. Police initiated an investigation and filed a report against the vehicle's owner for permitting unlicensed driving. (rst)
