UPS driver flees after hitting 9-year-old boy in Dortmund hit-and-run
A nine-year-old boy was struck by a UPS delivery van while crossing a street in Dortmund. The incident happened in the early afternoon, and the driver did not stop to assist the child after the collision. The collision took place at around 3:25 PM at the intersection of Provinzialstraße and In den Breen. The boy, who was crossing the road at the time, suffered a minor injury to his right lower leg. Despite the impact, the UPS driver failed to stop and left the scene without checking on the child.
The boy’s mother later reported the incident to the Lütgendortmund police station at approximately 6:00 PM. Authorities are now searching for witnesses who may have seen the accident or have details about the vehicle or its driver.
Police have launched an appeal for anyone with information to come forward. The injured boy received treatment for his leg, while investigators continue to gather evidence about the driver’s identity and the circumstances of the collision.
