Vietnam's Fatherland Front Congress to Shape National Unity and Governance

The 11th National Congress of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) will convene from May 11 to 13, 2026, at the National Convention Centre in Hà Nội. This gathering marks a key moment for political alignment following the 14th National Party Congress, with over 1,300 delegates expected to attend. The event follows a shorter-than-usual gap since the last congress in October 2024. Among the 1,138 official representatives, women make up 33.5%, non-Party members 46.7%, ethnic minorities 24.3%, religious figures 19.2%, and overseas Vietnamese 1.6%.

Delegates will review a revised charter and adopt a resolution on seven major action programmes. The congress will also elect a 405-member Central Committee, with around 70 forming the Presidium and 12 serving on the Standing Board. Running under the theme *‘Solidarity – Democracy – Innovation – Creativity – Development’* , the event aims to strengthen unity across Vietnam’s political system.

The congress will set priorities for the VFF’s next term while reinforcing its role in national governance. Decisions made during the three-day meeting will shape the organisation’s direction until the next gathering.
