Wiesbaden's emergency crews battle 48 hours of fires, crashes and rescues

Wiesbaden’s emergency services faced a hectic 48 hours, dealing with multiple serious incidents. Between Thursday and Friday, crews responded to fires, accidents, and injuries across the city. One of the most severe events unfolded in the Rheingau district on Friday afternoon.

The chaos began on Thursday when a woman in Sonnenberg fell through the rotting floor of her second-storey balcony. She suffered moderate injuries in the accident.

By Friday, the emergencies continued. Around 3:30 p.m., two vehicles collided at the intersection of Kurt-Schumacher-Ring and Klarenthaler Straße. The crash sent one car flipping onto its roof. Three people were injured—one seriously and two with moderate wounds. Firefighters, paramedics, and doctors rushed to the scene, deploying four ambulances, two emergency physician vehicles, and an incident command team. Elsewhere, a motorcyclist crashed on the A66 highway, adding to the day’s toll. Meanwhile, in Schierstein, another vehicle rolled over, leaving three people with minor injuries. Police have since launched an investigation into the cause of the Rheingau collision. Beyond accidents, crews also tackled several minor fires and false alarms during the two-day stretch.

The string of incidents kept Wiesbaden’s fire and rescue teams working nonstop. With one person seriously hurt and others injured, authorities are now reviewing the circumstances of the collisions. Emergency responders remain on alert as investigations continue.
