Woman Taken in Armavir Wedding Ritual Sparks Police Probe

A young woman in Armavir was reportedly taken by acquaintances as part of a traditional wedding ritual. Police launched an investigation after surveillance footage of the incident appeared online. Authorities have since confirmed no criminal acts took place. The incident came to light when officers discovered an online post containing security camera footage. The video showed a group of young men taking the woman, who was later identified as an acquaintance. Investigators from the Armavir branch of the Interior Ministry began examining the case immediately.

The probe revealed that the men, residents of Stavropol Krai, had carried out the act as part of a customary bridal ritual. Such traditions, though controversial, still occur in some regions. The woman involved has since returned home safely. No charges will be filed, as the inquiry confirmed the absence of any criminal intent or harm. The case has been closed, but the footage sparked discussions about traditional practices in the region. Authorities have not commented further on the matter.
