World leaders and citizens celebrate Tokayev's 73rd birthday
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, marked his 73rd birthday on May 17. Messages of congratulation have poured in from leaders, organisations, and citizens around the world.
The birthday celebrations for Tokayev began with well-wishes from fellow heads of state. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, and Uzbekistan’s Shavkat Mirziyoyev were among the first to send formal telegrams.
The number of greetings has kept growing since. International organisations, prominent public figures, and ordinary citizens of Kazakhstan have also joined in offering their congratulations.
The flood of messages reflects the wide recognition of Tokayev’s role as president. Both foreign leaders and people within Kazakhstan have taken the occasion to extend their best wishes on his 73rd birthday.
