12-Year-Old Cyclist Injured in Berlin Traffic Collision With Car
A 12-year-old boy was injured in a traffic accident in Berlin's Lankwitz district yesterday. According to preliminary investigations, the child was cycling along Seydlitzstraße toward Charlottenstraße around 1:30 p.m. when he crossed Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße. As he entered the intersection, he collided with a Toyota driven by a 41-year-old woman, who was traveling along Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße toward Cecilienstraße and struck the cyclist. Emergency responders took the boy to a hospital for inpatient treatment; the driver was unharmed.
A specialized unit from Police Directorate 4 (South) is investigating the accident, focusing in particular on determining which traffic lights were illuminated at the time of the collision.
