Arson suspected after fire destroys Niendorf beach chair rental hut
A fire broke out at a beach chair rental in Niendorf during the early hours of Thursday, May 7, 2026. The blaze destroyed a wooden hut and several beach chairs, with damage estimated at around €10,000. Authorities suspect the fire was started deliberately.
The fire began on a terrace next to the rental hut, where outdoor seating and chairs were stored. A passerby spotted the flames at about 2:15 AM and immediately alerted the fire department. Volunteer firefighters quickly arrived and brought the blaze under control, preventing any injuries.
