B248 Bridge Inspection to Disrupt Traffic on B82 Next Week
A key bridge on Federal Highway 248 (B248) will be inspected for structural safety next week. The checks, scheduled from May 18 to 20, will affect traffic on the B82 below near Hahausen. Drivers are being warned to expect delays and reduced lanes during the work. The inspection will focus on the B248 bridge crossing over the B82. To ensure safety, the B82 will be narrowed in both directions for the duration of the work. Temporary traffic lights will control the flow of vehicles through the restricted area.
Speed limits in the construction zone will drop to 50 km/h (31 mph). Exit ramps in the affected section will also be shortened, requiring extra care from motorists. Authorities have urged drivers to plan ahead and allow more time for their journeys.
The three-day inspection aims to assess the bridge’s condition and identify any necessary repairs. Reduced lanes, lower speed limits, and shortened ramps will remain in place until May 20. Drivers should stay alert and follow temporary signage while passing through the area.
