Bad Krozingen to update public order regulations after 17 years
The city council of Bad Krozingen will review changes to public order regulations on Monday, 12 May 2026. The proposed amendments aim to update ordinances that have been in place since 2009. Several local laws, including those on noise and public spaces, are set for revision. The updates will cover multiple ordinances. These include the police regulation on environmentally harmful behaviour, public nuisance, noise disturbances, and rules for public green spaces. The outdoor hospitality closing-time ordinance will also receive formal adjustments, though nighttime quiet rules will stay the same.
The city currently manages public alcohol consumption through individual measures. These include removal orders, fines, and targeted inspections. A blanket ban on alcohol in public spaces is not planned, as legal prerequisites are not met.
Service instructions for the municipal enforcement agency will be rewritten. The new version will clarify responsibilities, operational procedures, documentation requirements, and inspection protocols. The revised regulations are scheduled to take effect on 1 June 2026. The changes will bring the existing rules in line with the current legal framework. The council’s decision will finalise the updates during the meeting on 12 May.
