Berlin police dismantle teen gang behind wave of violent robberies
Berlin police have arrested three suspects linked to a string of gang-related robberies across the city. The group stands accused of carrying out at least ten attacks between late April and mid-May, targeting cash, phones, and other valuables. Officers executed search warrants in Steglitz and Lankwitz as part of the ongoing investigation.
The robberies reportedly took place near S-Bahnhof Priesterweg and the Insulaner in Schöneberg. Investigators believe the suspects tricked victims before assaulting them to steal belongings. Five individuals, aged 14 to 16, were identified in the operation, with two already known as repeat offenders in the area.
During the searches, police recovered mobile phones and items thought to be part of the stolen loot. Three suspects were detained, while one was transferred to a youth welfare facility. Forensic teams are now examining the confiscated devices for further evidence. The alleged crimes occurred between April 27 and May 18, 2024. Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the group’s activities.
The operation has led to arrests and the seizure of potential evidence. Police are still analysing the recovered items to build their case. Further details may emerge as the investigation progresses.
