Berlin Prosecutors Charge Eleven in Deadly Humboldt Forum Attack
Berlin (dpa/bb) – Berlin prosecutors have filed charges against eleven men in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old at the Humboldt Forum. The allegations are extensive, according to the city's public prosecutor's office.
The attack reportedly took place on September 12, 2025, along the Spree River promenade below the Humboldt Forum, where a group allegedly assaulted three men who were sitting there. The motive remains unclear.
Charges Against the Suspects
Four of the accused—aged 16, 17, 19, and 23—are alleged to have beaten and kicked the 20-year-old victim. The 16-year-old is then said to have delivered the fatal knife wounds, including a stab to the heart, while the other three allegedly witnessed and condoned the act. Prosecutors have charged them with joint manslaughter.
Two other victims, aged 21 and 23, were also attacked by the group, authorities said. The 21-year-old suffered a brain hemorrhage after being struck with an extendable baton. Seven of the eleven suspects now face trial for their roles in a group assault, grievous bodily harm, and breach of public order.
Nine of the defendants are currently in pretrial detention. Arrest warrants for most of the suspects were executed as early as December 2025.
