Berlin subway attack leaves multiple injured after hate-motivated assault

A violent attack unfolded on Berlin’s U2 subway line on Monday evening. Police detained a 34-year-old man after he assaulted multiple passengers at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz station. The incident began when the suspect harassed a young woman before turning on others who intervened.

The trouble started around 5:20 p.m. when the man approached a 19-year-old woman on the train. He demanded her contact details The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue. The victims received medical attention for their injuries, though their conditions were not reported as life-threatening. Police have confirmed the case will be treated as a hate-motivated offence under German law.
