The Biel/Bienne-Seeland-Jura Bernois Animal Welfare Association and the Swan Colony Foundation will continue to receive annual contributions from the city council. The Biel/Bienne-Seeland-Jura Bernois Animal Welfare Association, supported by an annual contribution of 81,000 Swiss francs, provides temporary shelter for animals in distress across the Biel region. Meanwhile, the Swan Colony Foundation, which receives 90,000 Swiss francs annually, cares for ornamental and waterfowl, and serves as an emergency center for injured and young wild birds. Both organizations have proven their success in implementing animal protection projects and collaborating positively with the city.
