Bismarck Tower’s 125th Anniversary Celebrated with Upgrades and Community Spirit
The 125th anniversary of the Bismarck Tower in Bad Salzuflen was marked with a joyous celebration over the weekend. The event included a folk run and an 'Open Heritage Day', drawing locals and visitors alike.
The tower, a beloved landmark, is set for enhancements to boost accessibility and appeal. Planned improvements include redesigned paths, bike racks, and landscape loungers, totaling around €100,000 in investment, with government funds contributing significantly.
Regular guided tours by the Heimat and Beautification Association are also planned. Mayor Dirk Tolkemitt expressed gratitude to local associations for their dedication and promised a natural redesign of the area.
The LEADER funding project around the tower has fostered collaboration with other associations, such as the Friends of the Bismarck Tower in Herford and the Burg Vlotho. The Detmold Regional Government has awarded €65,000 in LEADER funding for these initiatives.
The Bismarck Tower is poised to become an even more attractive destination for both citizens and tourists. With planned improvements and increased accessibility standards, the tower's future looks bright, thanks to the collective efforts of local organizations and government support.
