Drunk driver stopped in Halle after witness tip leads to failed breathalyzer
A 51-year-old driver was stopped by police in Halle (Saale) yesterday evening after a witness reported suspicious behaviour. The incident took place at around 7:05 p.m. on Platz Drei Lilien, where officers discovered clear signs of alcohol consumption. The traffic stop began after police received a tip from a member of the public. When officers approached the Mazda vehicle, they immediately noticed the driver appeared to be under the influence. A breathalyzer test was carried out on the spot, which confirmed the presence of alcohol.
A blood sample was then taken for further analysis. Due to the positive result, the driver was barred from continuing his journey. His licence was confiscated at the scene. The Halle (Saale) police station has since launched an investigation into the matter.
The driver now faces potential legal consequences following the failed breathalyzer and confiscation of his licence. Authorities will use the blood sample results to determine the next steps in the case.
