Drunk passenger smashes train station window after taxi refusal in Germany

On the evening of February 14, 2026, Deutsche Bahn AG notified the Federal Police Inspectorate in Rostock that an unknown assailant had threatened and insulted a DB employee and damaged a window of the train dispatcher's office at Dorf Mecklenburg station.
Officers from the Federal Police Station in Wismar intercepted the suspect—who had since continued his journey—at Bad Kleinen station and identified him. A voluntary breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.52 per mille. According to initial findings, the 22-year-old man struck the window of the dispatcher's office after the DB employee refused his request to order a taxi, shattering the glass. He allegedly also threatened the dispatcher with physical violence and hurled insults at him. The man did not possess a valid ticket.
Federal police have initiated criminal proceedings against the 22-year-old on suspicion of making threats, insult, criminal damage, and fare evasion.
