Düren's New Youth Group Gives Teens a Voice in City Decisions
Düren is launching a new initiative to give young residents a stronger voice in shaping their city. The Youth Participation Working Group 2026 will bring together people aged 14 to 27 for discussions, projects, and policy insights. Organisers say the group aims to show young people that their opinions count. The first meeting will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM. It will be held at the Liebertee Youth Café on Weierstraße, with no prior experience required. Anyone within the age range can join by emailing [email protected].
Nina Junggeburth, from Düren's Youth Welfare Office, explained that the group offers a platform for dialogue and participation. The programme includes discussion rounds, visits to local events, and insights into youth policy processes. Participants will have the chance to develop project ideas, plan leisure activities, and address issues important to them. The working group's goal is to ensure young residents play an active role in their community.
The initiative provides a structured way for young people to engage with local decision-making. Meetings will start later this month, with organisers encouraging all interested youth to take part. The group's activities will focus on turning ideas into action for the city's future.
