Global Experts Unite at SOCIO-2026 to Redefine Social Support Strategies
The Fifth International Forum and Exhibition of Social Technologies, SOCIO-2026, took place in Yekaterinburg from April 11 to 18. Over 500 experts gathered to discuss solutions for improving social support across Russia and beyond. The event brought together officials, entrepreneurs, and specialists from 63 Russian regions and 10 countries. The forum was held entirely in person to encourage direct exchanges among professionals. Organisers aimed to create a central meeting point for those working in social services, technology, and policy. Tatyana Fleganova, director of the SOCIO Autonomous Nonprofit Organization, explained that the event highlighted regional innovations designed to raise living standards.
More than 90 sessions covered five main areas: healthcare, education, social policy, sports, and culture. Delegates explored practical case studies and shared expertise on tailored support systems. The discussions also aligned with Russia’s *Family* national project, which seeks to strengthen social services nationwide. Ten official regional delegations attended to study how Sverdlovsk Oblast tackles social issues. The plenary session concluded that true unity in society comes from equal opportunities, not uniformity. This approach emphasised customised assistance to meet diverse needs.
The forum wrapped up with a focus on collaboration between government, nonprofits, and businesses. Participants left with strategies for applying new social technologies in their own regions. The event reinforced the role of targeted support in building a more inclusive society.
