Eichenzell elects new district head after 20 years of leadership change

Eichenzell has chosen new leaders for its main village after a recent vote. Christian Meier takes over as district head, replacing Dirk Fischer, who stepped down after nearly 20 years in the role. The changes also include fresh appointments to key positions on the council. Christian Meier was unanimously elected as the new district head. He has served on Eichenzell’s municipal council since 2016 and previously worked as deputy district head. A founding member of the Eichenzell Citizens’ List, he also held roles as a long-standing board member and deputy faction leader.

Dirk Fischer, the outgoing district head, decided not to seek re-election. Instead, he was elected chair of Eichenzell’s municipal council for the 2026–2031 term. His departure after nearly two decades in the role marks a significant shift in local leadership. Monika Dehler was elected deputy district head with a clear majority. Julian Rudolf was unanimously confirmed as secretary, while Lara Maraun took on the role of deputy secretary without opposition. The council also recognised outgoing members. Tobias Alt (SPD) was honoured after five years of service, while André Müller (CDU) will now bring his 15 years of experience to Eichenzell’s municipal executive.

The new leadership team is now in place, with Meier at the helm and Dehler as his deputy. Rudolf and Maraun will handle administrative duties as secretary and deputy secretary. The council’s changes reflect both continuity and fresh perspectives for Eichenzell’s future.
