Ex-Politician Ursula Conrads Joins Solingen's City Center Revitalization Team
Conrads studied architecture in Wuppertal and Cologne, bringing professional expertise to urban development. Until recently, she was also politically engaged, serving on the city council faction "SG zukunft." and the Gräfrath district committee. She resigned from both positions to take on her new role.
Lord Mayor Daniel Flemm welcomed the addition to the team, stating that Conrads would bring valuable planning expertise to the city center's development. Given the broad range of issues the unit addresses, he emphasized the importance of an interdisciplinary approach.
The "City Center Task Force," led by Carsten Zimmermann, coordinates measures and strategies across various municipal departments. Its goal is to further develop and enhance Solingen's city center over the coming years, working closely with the relevant specialized units.
Further reinforcements are already in the pipeline: Additional staff will soon join the team, including specialists to address social challenges in the city center.
