Explosion destroys Berlin parking meter in early-morning attack
A parking meter in Berlin’s Tempelhof district was destroyed in an explosion early Friday morning. The blast also caused minor damage to a nearby car, scattering metal debris across the area. The incident took place before dawn on Friday. Unknown attackers targeted the parking meter, triggering a powerful explosion that left the device severely damaged.
A car parked close by suffered a dent from flying metal fragments. Authorities have not yet identified those responsible or confirmed a motive for the attack.
The parking meter is now out of service, and repairs will be needed. Police are investigating the explosion, though no injuries were reported. The extent of the damage to the car remains minor.
