The city of Freiburg is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Volunteer Awards. The annual event recognises individuals, groups, and organisations making a difference in the community. Nominations will remain open until the end of June next year. Anyone can put forward a volunteer, association, or organisation based in Freiburg. Submissions can be made online or sent by email. The deadline for entries is Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
The awards cover several categories, including social and health-related work, youth engagement, and long-term service. Last year’s winners included the Cold Bus team and individuals who championed inclusion in sports. All nominees will receive an invitation to the ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The event will take place at the E-Werk venue in Freiburg.
The Volunteer Awards highlight the contributions of those working to improve life in Freiburg. Winners will be announced at the November ceremony. The city encourages residents to submit nominations before the June deadline.
