Garbsen's Training Breakfast unites leaders to tackle workforce challenges and apprenticeships
Garbsen's latest Training Breakfast brought together around 40 business leaders, educators, and local officials to discuss apprenticeships and workforce challenges. Held at the Institute of Multiphase Processes, the event focused on sharing updates and strengthening ties between companies. The gathering also reviewed the town's first Career Discovery Fair and looked ahead to future initiatives.
The 17th Training Breakfast took place for the first time at the Institute of Multiphase Processes on the Mechanical Engineering Campus. This venue, known for linking process engineering with biomedical research, provided a new setting for the twice-yearly event. Attendees toured the institute's facilities while exchanging ideas over breakfast.
Mayor Claudio Provenzano thanked local training companies for their ongoing efforts. The discussions highlighted the persistent skilled labour shortage affecting Garbsen's businesses. Participants also reviewed the inaugural Career Discovery Fair and confirmed plans for a follow-up event. The Training Breakfast has been a regular networking opportunity since 2023. It aims to foster collaboration, share best practices, and address shared challenges in vocational training. While no details were given about a first-time career conference, Garbsen already hosts a 'Behind the Scenes' format four times a year at Campus Handwerk, where employers and teachers observe apprentices in trades like masonry.
The event reinforced the importance of cooperation between businesses, educators, and local government. A second Career Discovery Fair is now in preparation. Meanwhile, the Training Breakfast will continue as a key platform for addressing Garbsen's workforce needs.
